End of Week

Jezumcrow, I hate winter. I especially hate winter living in this house. It's cold. It's drafty. The stairs leading from the terrace to ground level are hazardous in nice weather and life threatening when covered with snow or ice. I cannot keep the floors clean. They're either mud covered or bits of rock salt and dirt are all over. I am so freakin' tired of cleaning only to have it get dirty again. Of course, none of this bothers Ron or perhaps he just doesn't complain as I do. One has to agree, though, that walking out of the house with keys in hand and pocketbook slung over shoulder is a hell of a lot easier than putting on boots, jacket, mittens and sometimes a hat and then slogging through snow/ice wondering if one will fall. Ok.. wondering if I will fall. And even with all this prep to go outside, I'm still damn cold!

This past week was a typical one. I had Em two days. Ron had one doctor appointment. I did grocery shopping at Price Chopper in Catskill. Today I cleaned, ran errands and cooked. I hate to cook. Where is it written that cooking defaults to women?

Another reason to hate winter is how negatively if affects my arthritis. Some days certain areas of my body ache so much I could cry. My doctor prescribed a pain killer, but I use it only at night so I can sleep.

Gee, one would think I was feeling grouchy if not depressed. Actually I'm feeling both!
