The little red wagon isn't what it used to be. For my granddaughter's 2nd birthday on March 27, I've bought her a red wagon. It's a Radio Flyer but it's not the small, metal, not-so-stable wagon from my youth. They still make those, but I wanted something that can be used for multi-purposes, so got this molded plastic wagon. Just looking at it makes me smile. I love the bright red color and the real rubber tires. It shouts FUN!
When the two blue seat backs are folded down, it serves as a regular wagon to haul stuff around. With the seat backs in an upright position, each end becomes a place for a child to sit, with seat belts and a deep well in the bottom for their feet. It even has cup holders. The blue basket on the end is for carrying a few things when the wagon is occupied by kids.
Ember will like this wagon, but the adults in her life will like it more. Em lives in a small village, and when we go places in it, we usually walk. The park is our favorite destination. It's only about five blocks from her house; close enough to walk to and from, but too much of a walk for a little girl after playing at the park for a couple of hours. So this year we'll use the wagon instead of a stroller, which she's outgrowing anyway.
Life changes - Some things do get better with age and change, and the Radio Flyer wagon is one of them.
