On our way to Watertown Sunday, we took the high road out of Boonville just to drive by the windmills in Martinsburg and Lowville. I love these windmills. They are so graceful. They are the ballerinas of the future, only the future is here and now. Because we went to Watertown instead of to my sister's place north of Watertown, we took a different road out of Lowville and saw even more windmills, much closer than the ones on the high road.
There is much controvery about the energy-producing windmills, and not just those in Northern New York State. There are complaints of noise. Complaints of birds being killed from flying into the blades. Some people consider them an eyesore. Just as many who complain, though, find no fault with them.
Maybe it's easy for me to say I could live with them in my backyard. Ignorance is bliss, eh? I'm still willing to try it, though.
