The sun was out today. It's true. It shone in the backyard, through the trees, onto the terrace, on the road, down at the library. It even was shining when Ron and I crossed the crick and walk the cemetery.
It was a busy day for me. I was up before Ron and started my day, which generally means jumping in the shower, putting on make up and doing my hair. Today it also meant putting on water for Ron's tea and starting my coffee. He still wasn't up so I cleaned the bathroom. The work didn't end there. There was vacuuming, laundry, stripping and remaking the bed, running errands and cooking and baking.
I hate to cook. I know I've mentioned that before (said with tongue in cheek). Cooking to me is a long, agonizing way to get food into a hungry stomach. Today, though, I was in the mood to cook so I made onion soup, which I made "French" for supper by doing the bread/cheese thing and putting it under the broiler. I also baked two lemon pound cakes. I was Suzie Homemaker today (haha).
Ron's still not sleeping well at night due to the continuing aches and pains of last week's fall, so he's napping more during the day. He napped for close to 90 minutes this afternoon. Of course, the sleep apnea doesn't help him get a good night's rest either.
Today's post reads more boring than usual because today was more normal than usual. It's OK. I was so busy Monday to Frida this week that today has been very enjoyable.
Today's weather - It started off rainy and cloudy, but as the morning progressed, the clouds scattered and by early afternoon, it was sunny with a high temp of about 50.
Life changes - There was once a time when staying home on a Saturday would have made me antsy. Today it was a blessing.
